OPEN CALL: 10 months residency programme FT24
The Florence Trust spent 30 years providing a dynamic, development programme and studio residency in London for twelve artists each year until 2019.
In 2023, we have moved our base from St. Saviour’s to Holy Trinity, N1 0HN. Our studio residency programme is now back but very limited space is available at the moment.
We designed the programme to support our artists’ artistic and professional development through mentoring and tours and is tailored to their personal objectives during their stay at Holly Trinity.
You will be joining a variety of international artists, painters, sculptors and performative based practitioners on this residency programme.
What we offer:

APPLICATION GUIDELINES
Send your application with the subject ‘Full Name Residency application 2024’ , to ftresidency@gmail.com by midnight GMT, Thursday 28 Feb, 2024.
Please copy and paste the list below and provide necessary information for each section.
1. An artist’s statement describing your practice and areas of interest (up to 250 words)
2. CV
3. A simple statement outlining your plans, if you were to be offered the residency, which could include a short description of a research project specific to the context of London or your residency (up to 250 words). This proposal does not have to be definitive and can change during the course of the residency.
4. Online address for your website or Instagram.
5. Your full name, contact address, e-mail and telephone numbers if available, plus confirmation that you will be available from 01/04/2024 –31/01/2025, if selected.
Application Fee
There is a £15 (non refundable) application administration fee. It should be paid via bank transfer.
Once we receive your application materials via email, we will send you the bank details for the application fee. Please pay the fee and take a screen grab and keep it as a proof of your payment just in case for yourself.
Successful applicants will be selected for online or live interviews with the residency admissions jury (FT programme directors), which will take place shortly after the application deadline.

Successful artist notified by: 15th March 2024

Selection and Eligibility
The residency is open to contemporary visual artists working in all disciplines, though please note FT’s restricted facilities. Aspiring artists producing high quality work who have not had the opportunity to work in London before will be prioritised. Applicants should have at least a moderate level of spoken English, and should feel comfortable engaging in artistic discussions in English.
The selected artist should be able to engage discursively and speculatively with FT’s environment and London’s wider artistic and cultural context.
